I’ve been up to Deckers before but this time I decided to try a different approach. I wanted to get on the river higher up. Unfortunately driving in almost every single spot down the river is marked with fences and no trespassing signs.
I did manage to find one spot though and it was great. Right in between two of the restricted private property areas, there’s about 1/4 of a mile of land that goes from the road down to the river by the little island in the middle of the map.
I didn’t catch a single fish, but it didn’t matter. No road noise. Hardly anyone down there. The huge fish sitting in the water were eating, just not any of the 10+ flies I threw in. I did get one bite but wasn’t able to pull it in. The area was beautiful though. I’ll definitely be going back.
